Just a quick update. Both parents' houses were spared. Just some limbs down. I walked down our street and power lines are down. There is one house with two trees on it, but they don't appear to have hurt house. Lots of trees are uprooted.
Lots of news about galveston damage and telling people to stay where they are - don't come home. Looks like Houston got more damage than they expected. Some downtown buildings were pretty damaged. I haven't seen anything on the Downtown Aquarium yet. Kemah is in pretty bad shape, mainly water everywhere.
Staulman Park in Surfside was a total loss. Kitty's Purple Cow was heavily damaged. The gate building when you enter surfside beach is gone.
Galveston is covered with building parts on the beaches and on the causeway. It is crazy to see.
On another note, my sweet little girl is being HORRIBLE! She has never acted like this in her life. I am at the end of my rope...but we are surviving! We don't know if she is like this because she knows something is wrong or if it is because she is teething, gassy, etc. Either way, it is not fun right now.
I better get back to her, before she starts fussing again. Take care!

So glad to hear that everyone is okay! We were worried about both of your parents homes. Good news! We were hit worse out here than expected. About 60% of the trees and fences are gone, damaged roofs every where, and Jason's work was damaged pretty bad too (windows blown out, fences gone, roof torn off, water in the building, etc.) Landon's poor swing set/club house ($800!!!) was torn apart and ripped out of the concrete that was suppose to be very secure. Somehow we got power back around 9:30am....VERY lucky as it was out since 2am. It was pretty scary from about 1am until 7am and we got no sleep. It was so loud and the house was creaking and popping and you were just waiting for something to blow away or through a window. Both Landon and Emerson are very fussy and out of sorts too!! Although we think Emerson has begun teething. Not fun! Take care and we'll be thinking of you guys and hoping your power comes on soon. I'll continue to check your blog.
Glad to hear everyone's alright and houses are ok. Bob and I are in Oklahoma at Amanda's with all mom's pets in addition to ours - she and dad are in Europe right now! But we've heard preliminary reports that our house and mom's are both ok, at least from the outside. Laura's (in Pearland off McHard Rd) got some roof damage and water in thru the a/c vents but they're all ok. Be safe!
(and ps - thank you for the bday pic you sent us! love it!!)
